Whispers Media Network has learned that the petition to President Mahama for the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo is a rehash of the old ones that failed under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The details of the petition which was sent to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo which was dismissed is what has been put together in a new petition for the removal of the Chief Justice.
Their agenda, we can state on authority, is to get the tacit endorsement of the Council of State for a constitution of committee.
Through constituted committee’s work, President John Dramani Mahama will press the ‘Step Aside’ button.
He will consequently select Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie as the Acting Chief Justice while the case continues at the committee level.
The question many worried Ghanaians are asking is, how can a petition which was dismissed for not meeting the threshold be the basis for an impeachment proceedings under Mahama?
