Mahama Deceives Ghana Premier League Teams

President John Dramani Mahama has deceived players in the football fraternity after promising to pay them monthly.

In the run-up to the 2024 elections, His Excellency John Mahama pledged to pay premier league players on monthly basis.

This, he indicated, would help revive the ailing football industry in the country. Mr. Mahama said owners of football teams were increasingly finding it difficult to pay players, leading to the dwindling fortunes of Ghana football.

However, during the reading of the 2025 budgetary statement by Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, the government didn’t factor his promise to the football teams.

The 2025 budgetary also failed to mention any attempt by the state to construct sports stadiums in regions where there are none.

This has also fueled speculations that the President lied to football people with such mouthwatering promises.

Interestingly, many radio and television stations have failed to discuss this obvious neglect of their concerns except a few ones.

President John Mahama, it is widely believed now, lied to football people to get their votes, the culmination of which resulted in his overwhelming support and victory in the 2024 elections.
