Hypocrisy of Mahama Exposed as BoG Governor Hints of Global Factors Likely to Affect the Economy

Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Johnson Asiamah, has given the strongest indication of Ghana’s economy being affected by extraneous factors this year despite measures being adopted to strengthen it. According to the Governor, global factors could have spillover effects on inflation, capital flows and exchange rate stability in the 2025 fiscal year. This admission by the Governor is a wide departure from the positions held by then candidate John Mahama and the leadership of the NDC. The Akufo-Addo administration faced significant challenges when the deadly coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19, struck. COVID-19 brought the global economy on its knees as production…

Mahama plots to replace Gertrude Torkornoo with Paul Baffoe-Bonnie as CJ

Whispers Media Network has learned that the petition to President Mahama for the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo is a rehash of the old ones that failed under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The details of the petition which was sent to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo which was dismissed is what has been put together in a new petition for the removal of the Chief Justice. Their agenda, we can state on authority, is to get the tacit endorsement of the Council of State for a constitution of committee. Through constituted committee’s work, President John Dramani…

Jean Mensa is the target of the NDC, not Gertrude Torkornoo, JSC.

The attempted removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo is only a means to an end. In fact, from all indications, though she is as much hated by these NDC elements as the other persons appointed to man various institutions by President Akufo-Addo, the ultimate target is not the CJ. With Gertrude Torkornoo in place, the ruling NDC will find it impossible to get rid of Jean Mensa. Jean Mensa is the one they are hellbent to remove from office with her deputies. The Chief Justice who is law abiding and would never allow the Constitution of the Republic of…

Okatakyie Afrifa’s Arrest an Affirmation of Mahama’s Continued Efforts to Gag Voices of Dissent

Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has once again, caused for the arrest of Okatakyie Afrifa of ‘For the Records Show.’ Another Rambo-styled arrest of the ace journalist was pulled out this afternoon by the Cyber Security Department of the Ghana Police Service. Information available to Whispers Media Network indicates that the arrest was based on a flimsy allegation brought against him by a person who failed to show up to substantiate the allegations. WMN is reliably informed that this allegation came up in 2017 by a lady who later clarified the issues and indicated that it was out of the…

KWABENA ADU BOAHENE IS NOT A POLITICIAN; Ayine should stop misinforming the public

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, at his press conference to itemize the cases involving some individuals his outfit has investigated, created the impression that Kwabena Adu Boahene of Signals, is a former Akufo-Addo appointee and an NPP member who has acquired wealth and properties that defy logic. Let it be on record that Kwabena Adu Boahene is not and has never been an NPP member. He is not a politician and has always been a businessman. This is not an NPP/NDC matter. It is imperative that these facts are made available to the public about…

IERPP Vindicated as T-Bills Fall Down

The Mahama administration, for the first time this year, has fallen short of its Treasury bill target, missing it by GH¢2.8 billion. The Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) data shows that the government intended to raise GH¢6.14 billion from short-term instruments but received bids totaling GH¢3.32 billion, representing a 45% undersubscription. A breakdown of the auction results reveals that out of GH¢3.6 billion tendered for the 91-day Treasury bill, GH¢2.33 billion was accepted. The 182-day bill attracted GH¢741 million in bids, with GH¢574 million accepted. For the 364-day bill, GH¢622 million was tendered, but only GH¢406 million was accepted. The Institute…

Who is buying the weapons for the conflict in Bawku now?

Many continue to hold the view and promote the narrative that Ghana is a very peaceful country. They make this assertion without looking at what continues to plague our people in Bawku in Upper East. The age-long, seemingly never-ending conflict in the Bawku area has had a toll on the people living in and around the town. Thousands, if not millions, of lives have been lost through this conflict. Despite this prehistoric war between the two main ethnic groups, it has, over the past few years, been used as a tool by a group of politicians to win political…

The disco of doom and the PZ Adum fire

The sight of the burnt-out stores at PZ Adum breaks my heart. A place so full of life, now just ashes—it’s hard to take in. The fire didn’t just destroy buildings; it wiped out people’s hard work and money. And who knows when we’ll rebuild? From videos I’ve seen, people say the fire started because of some strange, flickering lights—like a disco gone wrong—that began early in the morning and led to the big blaze. It’s a tough lesson for us Ghanaians: we can’t let feelings alone decide how we vote. Elections affect our everyday lives, and we’re seeing that…

Growing Insecurity in Ahafo Region as Timber Wars Claim Lives ~ Citizen Akoto

The Ahafo Region, once known for its serene landscapes and rich forests, is now a hotspot of violence and lawlessness, with rising insecurity threatening the lives and livelihoods of its residents. Despite the escalating tensions, the authorities remain conspicuously silent, leaving communities to grapple with the chaos on their own. Over the past few weeks, the region has witnessed a surge in violent incidents, particularly in towns like Sankore and surrounding areas. These deaths are directly linked to the frenzied rush for timber in the Ahafo forests, a situation that has worsened since the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assumed power…

Arrest of Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah; How President John Dramani Mahama is Stifling Free Speech

Arrest of Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah; How President John Dramani Mahama is Stifling Free Speech

For many a Ghanaian who believed President Mahama’s Reset mantra was to catapult the nation from what was bequeathed to him by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to another enviable position. What we are witnessing, however, leaves so much to be desired. Just this evening, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, host of For The Records show, was picked up by operatives of the National Security. He was at GIMPA to write an examination and was soon picked up upon finishing the exams and was heading home. Afrifa’s Rambo-style arrest has come about as a result of his recent criticisms of the Mahama government.…
