Blame yourself and not Akufo-Addo for not getting appointed into his government: your impatience cost you.

A Letter to Lloyd Amoah.

Dear Lloyd Amoah!

You take delight in attacking former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the least opportunity, oftentimes presenting a very biased, lopsided view of whatever gingers you to heap vitriol on him.

For the past 8 years, you appeared to have developed a jaundiced view of President Akufo-Addo without giving your readers and audience the other side of the real story behind your constant attacks and criticisms which are far from constructive.

To those who follow you religiously and have been swallowing whatever you put out there as gospel, they have clearly been misled. Let me give details about your animosity towards Akufo-Addo.

First of all, you worked under Kwabena Agyei Agyapong at the Castle during the Presidency of His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor. You had an opportunity to travel to China and gained the knowledge about the Asian country.

You started criticizing Akufo-Addo a few weeks after he was sworn into office, that was February 2017, if I am not mistaken. Afterwards, a meeting was convened between you and the President at his Nima residence where you were told about being appointed to head a China desk.

You were asked to prepare a paper on what you were going to bring on board to make sure that Ghana benefits immensely from its relationship with China. You left the meeting and within a week, you were back on social media attacking the government.

When the President was eventually ready to get your appointment letter to be done which was in April, a catalogue of vitriolic, unjustified attacks on President Akufo-Addo were presented to him. Who would appoint you under such circumstances? You are not patient, blame yourself, not Akufo-Addo.

You still have your developed blueprint for a more sustainable and agreeable Ghana-China relationship. Don’t let it rot. Take it to John Mahama who may want to engage your exceptional knowledge on China.

If nobody listened to you when you spoke extensively about China, you now have the best opportunity to articulate the same message to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

It is about time you were told this truth: you are not loyal to Ghana. Your loyalty is to yourself, not Ghana. After Kufuor helped to build you up, you say you are neutral, and that is the oil you require to get into the good books of the current administration.

Let it not be said anywhere that Akufo-Addo denied you the opportunity to serve under his administration. Never ever mention that Akufo-Addo didn’t ask you to come on board with your China strategy. Your entitlement mentality, coupled with impatience, brought that misfortune your way.
